These policies are in draft for the launch of cineva.io. The effective date is pending.

Acceptable use policy

Cineva generates images and text of people, places and scenes. That makes it easy to misuse, so the limits are short and specific. This policy is part of the terms of service.

On this page

  3. Impersonation
  4. Nothing involving minors
  5. Harassment and hate
  6. Material you have no right to
  7. Attacks on the service
  8. Reselling and scraping
  9. What happens if you break these rules
  10. Reporting a problem

Who this applies to

Everyone with a Cineva account, on every plan, for everything they submit to a tool and everything they do with the output. If you share your output, you stay responsible for it.

Real people

Do not generate material that depicts a real, identifiable person without their consent. That covers naming a person in a prompt, uploading a photograph of them, and describing them closely enough to be recognizable.

Two cases are absolute, consent or not:

  • No sexual or nude depictions of real people. Cineva is a pre-production tool, not a face swap tool.
  • No depictions that present a real person as saying or doing something they did not, in a way that would damage them. That includes fake quotes, fake crimes and fake endorsements.

Casting boards are for imagined characters. If you are casting a real actor, use their real headshot in your own documents, not a generated likeness.

Impersonation

Do not pretend to be someone else on Cineva or in what you make with it. Do not create an account in another name. Do not present generated material as the work, decision or approval of a real studio, agency, production company or person.

Nothing involving minors

Do not generate, upload or ask for any material that sexualizes a minor. There is no artistic exception, no fictional exception and no warning. An account that does this is closed immediately, and we report it to the authorities where the law requires or permits it.

Harassment and hate

Do not use Cineva to harass, threaten or humiliate anyone. Do not generate material that attacks people over race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation, or that promotes violence against them.

Difficult subject matter in a script is not the problem. Scripts are about conflict. The line is material that exists to attack real people rather than to tell a story.

Material you have no right to

Only submit scripts and images you wrote, own, or have permission to use. Do not paste a leaked screenplay, a competitor draft, or copyrighted work that belongs to someone else. Do not submit confidential material you were trusted with.

Attacks on the service

Do not try to break Cineva or work around how it is metered.

  • No probing, scanning or exploiting the service, its accounts or its infrastructure.
  • No load that is designed to overwhelm the service or to degrade it for other users.
  • No reverse engineering, decompiling, or trying to extract prompts, models or model weights.
  • No working around credit limits, plan limits, rate limits or payment. That includes running multiple free accounts to farm welcome credits.

Security research is welcome, but tell us first at hello@cineva.io and stay away from other user accounts.

Reselling and scraping

Do not resell raw access to the models behind Cineva, or wrap the service in your own product so other people can generate through your account. Selling the work you produce with Cineva is fine. Selling generation itself is not.

Do not scrape the site or the app with bots, crawlers or automated scripts, and do not use automation to create accounts.

What happens if you break these rules

What we do depends on what happened. In rough order of severity, we can:

  • refuse or stop a run, and tell you why
  • remove the offending material from your account
  • suspend the account while we look into it
  • close the account and end your subscription
  • report the account where the law requires it

Where it is reasonable to do so we warn you first. For material involving minors there is no warning and no appeal.

Credits spent on a run that broke these rules are not refunded. [What happens to unused pack credits when an account is closed for a breach, to be set by counsel]

If you think we got it wrong, reply to the notice we send you and a person will read it.

Reporting a problem

If you find material made with Cineva that breaks this policy, or you are depicted in something you did not agree to, email hello@cineva.io. Tell us what you saw and where. We will look at it.
